On Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, a memorial service will be held for Michael Jackson. News vans are set up all around the Staples Center with hardly any walking room around them. People have already started trying to line up with their chairs and blankets, willing to spend a few nights out in the cold just to get a front seat during the memorial service.
A news conference will be held at 10:00am today to announce how people will be able to get a ticket in order to attend. Some have said that the tickets will be free but there are other rumors online that there will be a $25 charge.
The city of Los Angeles is already concerned how they will handle the crowd control. The event will be so large that they will need many officers to control the people.
Many people are looking forward to the memorial to pay their respects to Michael Jackson.
While I was working today I got a breaking news message on my phone reporting the news that Farrah Fawcett had died. This is such a sad thing since she was unable to beat the cancer that ultimately took her life.
Thinking about this, later I received another message saying that Michael Jackson had been rushed to the hospital.
I was thinking that he would be okay. He has the best doctors, the best everything. The media always gets so excited at any little story.
Later, when I got home and turned on the television, the media was reporting it on every single station. They were saying that Michael had been rushed to the hospital for what seemed to be cardiac arrest.
Nothing was announced for quite some time. Finally, word was out that Michael had died. I was in shock. I couldn't believe that they were unable to save him and that he had already passed away.
Saddened, I am writing this tonight. A legend that is gone. Such a contributor to music. The King of Pop.
Another earthquake here in Southern California....scared me a bit. At first, I felt the walls rattling. I thought that the neighbors were jumping on the walls. A second later I realized that it was a quake and ran outside. All of the neighbors were outside wondering what to do. We waited about 10 minutes and then went back in the house.
Watching the news and looking on the web, we found out that it was a 5.0. A bit scary, but an interesting evening now comes to a close.
.....hope there are no aftershocks!
While Obama was being sworn in, he seemed a bit nervous and made 2 errors while repeating the words which were stated to him. Take a look at this video and see if you can find the mistakes that he made.
Last night I was sitting at the computer trying to connect the scanner to the laptop and I suddenly felt a few jolts. I wasn't sure what it was at first, thinking that perhaps the neighbors were hitting on the wall next to me. I felt my chair jump up from under me and I realized it was an earthquake. I stood up and ran out of the house. I thought, "If this building comes down, I don't want to be stuck in it."
I went outside and there were some people outside. Some had felt it and others hadn't. A few minutes later I went back into the house and turned on the news and found out that it was a 5.0 earthquake. A little scary, a little excitement, a little ride. Well, it was enough to make my heart beat a little faster for a while. Good thing it wasn't bad and everyone was okay.
Have a good day today!

As I woke up this morning I smelt fires burning outside. The fire started in Corona near Green River Drive off of the 91 freeway. There are also 2 other big fires burning in southern California.
There are ashes that are flying all over the city. My whole patio is almost layered in ash. It almost looks like snow that is hitting the ground.
Hot weather and strong winds are not helping the firemen put out the fires.
A few of my friends have had to evacuate there houses and sleep in other places. I am very worried about them and I hope that their houses will be able to be saved. I also pray that everyone has made it out of their houses safely and that no one is hurt during this time. :(

21 people died in a riot in a prison in Mexico. This happened close to the border of Texas in a city called Reynosa. A shootout occurred and then a fire was set to a building. Police think that at least 25 people have died in the riot, although only 21 have been reported dead as of right now.
